Hello Everyone! Since Guests and Visitors to this forum cannot see the Members Only areas, I thought I would make a public post to let everyone know where I am and why I have not been on the forum much lately. One of Bint's puppies went to a man named Samuel Carey, who is going to bicycle across Saskatchewan this summer to raise awareness of Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. He has invited me to go on this trip with him, but since I am not in shape to bike across the province, I have decided to take a more supportive role and help him with the organization and coordination of his trek. I will also be driving a support vehicle and will be able to spend a lot of time with Anka (Bint's daughter). Anka is growing into a fine young lady. If you would like to see what Anka looks like, Samuel has posted a few pictures of her on his blog. Check out his blog and sign up as followers to give him your support. His blog can be found at www.samuelcarey.blogspot.com/

He finished on Monday afternoon (June 7th). He bicycled over 700 km (705.38 km to be exact) in 3 days. Way to go Samuel!! Samuel hopes that many more people have now heard of Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and the effect that this disorder can have on the liver and the lungs. For more information on Alpha 1, please visit www.Alpha1Canada.com. Check back to Samuel’s Blog often as over the next week he will be posting pictures and details from his trip. Then he will start preparing for his next adventure, canoeing across the entire province of Saskatchewan. His liver may be rotten, but he’s got a lot of heart! www.samuelcarey.blogspot.com

Congratulations Samuel!
I really enjoy reading Samuel's blog, especially all the good advice he has been giving lately. It makes me want to tell my owner to go for more bicycle rides with me.

Just thought I would update everyone.
After Samuel finished bicycling across the province, he began training to canoe across the province. My son Will went with him on some of the training trips and even for a few days on the South Saskatchewan River. Due to several health concerns, Samuel did not finish crossing the entire province, but he still went a long way. He is planning on returning and finishing the cross provincial canoe trip next summer.
His next adventure is to attempt to cross the province by cross country skiing, or perhaps by skijoring or kicksledding.
And as a side note, Anka is doing very well. Samuel says that she has caught a few rats and is always on the lookout for more. Please help me encourage Samuel to share some pictures with us.
